Staff

Dr. Steven L. Pinson goes here in the coveted first position on this page, afterall, he has been here for 36 years.  Both Erica and Greg wanted this spot. Steve agreed and when they pay the bills he’ll be happy to give it to them.

Light Street Optometry: Dr. Steve Pinson:

Steve attended the University of Maryland at College Park and lived through the Terps overtime loss to North Carolina State. After recovering, Steve attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts where he received his Doctor of Optometry. Steve also received training at the prestigious Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, where he had extensive experience fitting rigid gas permeable lenses for keratoconus. He held the position of Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland for 13 years, where he was the only doctor fitting rigid gas permeable lenses for keratoconus, penetrating keratoplasty, and traumatic corneas. His other duties included instructing Ophthalmology residents in optics and contact lenses. He also taught fourth year optometry students from his Alma mater, The New England College of Optometry and Salus University (more commonly known as the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). Even though he enjoyed his tenure at UMMS, it was time to devote his full attention to his growing Federal Hill practice on Light Street.

Light Street Optometry: Erica Mone

Erica is a mom, wife, and our office manager, which is good because she likes to manage everything.

Erica started in the optical industry as a receptionist in 2004, after the birth of her first child.  Erica also trained as a technician and grasped the ins and outs of managing a business and now holds the position of Office Manager at Light Street Optometry.  She loves her job, and it shows.  She was even interviewed for an on line magazine where she was quoted saying “I love my job.”

She does much of the frame buying, for Light Street Optometry so you can thank her for your beautiful new glasses.  A bubbly personality and extreme organization keep our patients coming in to see Erica in fact many of our patients just come in to say, “Hi.” They act like they want to say hello to all of us, but we know it is for Erica.  No offense taken.

Light Street Optometry: Greg Brunner/Lab Manager

Greg is a dad, husband, DJ, and an Optician.  He has a daughter and twin sons.  He also has a degree from Towson University in Mass Communications.

He started with Dr. Pinson in 2010 and is capable of doing everything in the office (with the exception of eye exams).  Greg really enjoys the art of making glasses in the Light Street Optometry on-site lab. He also provides in depth tutorials to new contact lens wearers on how to insert and remove those rascally devices.

Before coming into the optical industry Greg managed a large retail music business and fuels his love of music with a DJ company, which keeps him off the streets on the weekends.  Greg’s Big Hit DJS can be found at: http://www.bighitdjs.com/. (A shameless plug)**

** Be sure  to mention you found “Big Hits” here, so Dr. Pinson can collect his commission.

All of us at Light Street Optometry are proud of what we have built in Federal Hill and are proud to be a part of this wonderful neighborhood from our 30 plus-year-old perch on Light Street.
